Cupid’s Bow

DownUp +7

Valentine’s Day is the time where lovers love and give up on the hate.
While anyone who is single is left behind, alone, just trying to wait.
Instead of stuffing your face with anything you can get your hands on,
Try to find someone you absolutely care for before they’re all gone.
The best ones know how to make you happy with the simplest “Hi’s,”
But only the perfect one lights up your life with just their eyes.
When you complain that Cupid’s Bow still hasn’t struck you,
Just remember you’re not alone because I’m arrowless too,
You can’t rush perfection so why do people rush to find the one?
Don’t rush for the special someone, find your perfect someone.

Together

DownUp +10

Have you seen that angel with such sweet lips?
She can make you forget it all with just one kiss.
When she gets upset, she likes to come to me.
She curls up in a ball while I call her sweet pea.
You can describe her plenty, many would agree.
The first thing that comes to mind is she’s artsy.
Wait, could it be what love poems speak of?
The writer’s idea of two people falling in love?
I shouldn’t just sit here, writing, and wait.
Me and you, it’s our destiny, it’s our fate.

Past Passes Past

DownUp +6

The biggest rule of them all is to never for the past.
Even though you had a bad moment, it surely won’t last.
Everyone has those days, it’s one of the trials of your spirit.
It’s your decision, either you give up and fail or go head up against it.
Yes, sometimes we want to change what we did, but now you know,
The present and future will be better and it will surely show.
Because of the heartbreaks and hardships you had to deal,
You know how to embrace yourself against them better, to recover, and heal.
Surely pain is the reason we don’t try and it gives us hell.
Just remember your past experiences, fix those mistakes, and come out of your shell.

To My Mother

DownUp +4

I know there have been times me and you don’t see eye to eye.
But at the end of it all, the sorry and apologizes is all I could supply.
Right now, I am praying that you would have a great day today.
And I think it’s unfair that you can’t have a good one ever day.
I love you so much mom and I hope that you surely know,
That I’m your little boy and that title will never outgrow.
You’ve done so much, and I am so very thankful and proud,
That I have a Mom who loves me, even though I’m so very loud.
So have a Happy Birthday Mom, from your caring Son,
Because, in my eyes, you’re hearts warmer than the sun.

The Little Things

DownUp +2

Remember, in life; you must enjoy the little things.
Because you’ll never know what tomorrow brings!
Just be thankful that you can wake up each day,
Never let any precious time in your life slip away.
Take a moment; enjoy just sitting in the grass,
Look at all the trees and just watch nature pass.
While you’re sitting, think of what you’ve been through.
Think about the future and what you want to do.
Now that you have thought about the old and the new,
Think about something that is more important, you.
Continue enjoying all the things in life, big or small,
Because smiling a lot is better than no smiling at all.

Flaming Friends

DownUp +8

How do you fall in love, is it, as they say, love at first sight?
But how does that happen, is it a love bug that gives you a bite?
You don’t have to have experience to know anything about love,
Because I know a girl who is smart, lovable, and as cute as a dove.
Everyone has one person who you can trust your whole world with.
If you said that Monique isn’t here for me, I would know it’s a myth.
She and I know that other people most people are one thing, a liar.
It’s not just a relationship, or love, its one big friendship on fire.

Monique

DownUp +17

She’s more than a person, she’s an angel.
The way her hair flows, it’s just so graceful.
She has a tendency to warm everyone’s heart.
When she talks, it sounds like she perfected that art.
The only thing I want is to get to know you better.
But from what I know so far, you’re a go getter.
When you talk to her, she’s not like the others.
When she talks, she likes to bring out her true colors.
I just want to spend all day gazing in your eyes.
And I hope you can see that I’m a good guy in disguise.
