Summer is creeping up
As does graduation
It is a time I used to look forward to
With odd infatuation
Now that its tasting distance
I second guess my guess
I will miss these faces
I will miss the schools mess
My brothers and sisters
Who have always been here beside me
Now we are independent
From our chains, set free
What are we going to choose?
Education and a degree
Or getting married
Making a family
Are we going to get a job?
Do I have to choose just one?
I am so frightened
Of what is going to be done
But we will make it through
As we have the past four years
We will be there though good times
And even through the tears
So Iâ??ll stand by you
If its by me you will too
Weâ??ll keep each other strong
Weâ??ll get each other through

We stand before you
The class of 2008
Some of us are sad
And some are quite relieved
Our times together are over
As our diplomas are received
I can’t mention all the people
Who hold a place in my heart
I cherish each and every one
Good luck on your new start
This past year of High School
Has been the very best
We made new friends, met new people,
And put old friendships to the test
But now it is time to look to the future
Instead of gazing at what is gone
The sun is setting on this part of life
And tomorrow brings a new dawn
Our lives are just beginning
And our fate is ours to choose
We can’t control the obstacles
But it’s our choice to win or lose
Hard times will be ahead
You will just have to be strong
Don’t lose faith and never quit
The good times will follow along
We would not be where we are today
Without the help from a person or two
Our family’s deserve all the credit
For the people you see before you
The time has come for us
The class of 2008
to leave behind the memories
And say all our goodbyes
I never could have imagined
How hard this day would be
To say goodbye to friends and peers
Who seem like my family
We haven’t always gotten along;
We’ve had our share of fights
But overall we’ve made it through
To stand before you with delight
To the class of 2008, I congratulate you
On a job very well done
Our future is out there waiting…
Good luck, and have fun!!!

DIAPERS AND BOTTLES, UP ALL NIGHTS
ENDLESS BARNEY RERUNS.BEAUTIFUL BABY
YOU GREW UP SO FAST
I MISS MY LITTLE GIRL.
SUMMER DAYS, PIGGYBACK RIDES
FEEDING THE DUCKS AND SQUIRRELS
CARTOON WEEKENDS, COLORING BOOKS
I MISS MY LITTLE GIRL.
SLUMBER PARTY’S WITH YOUR BEST FRIENDS
BIRTHDAYS AT CHUCKE CHEESE
SEEMED LIKE THE PARTY WOULD NEVER END
NOW CHERISHED MEMORIES
I MISS MY LITTLE GIRL
FIRST DANCE IN JR. HIGH, NO, NOT
MY LITTLE GIRL, DADS HAVING NONE OF THAT
HOW I WANTED TO STAY BUT DROPPED YOU OFF
NOW I SIT BACK AND LAUGH
I MISS MY LITTLE GIRL
HIGH SCHOOL CAME AND WENT
AT THE TIME IT SEEMED SO SLOW
DANCES AND PARTY’S WITH FRIENDS
FOOTBALL GAMES,
AND A FATHER LEARNING TO LET GO
PERMITS AND TICKETS, TEACHING YOU TO DRIVE
WORDS CAN NEVER EXPRESS THE JOY I FEEL
AS YOU GREW UP BEFORE MY EYES
I KNOW ONE DAY HE WILL COME FOR YOU
ONE DAY HE WILL TAKE A KNEE
YOU’LL HAVE AN ANGEL OF YOUR OWN
ONLY THEN, WILL YOU UNDERSTAND
CHERISHED MEMORY’S

This time is ours,
remember forever.
The times we shared,
times we weren’t so clever.
But with each other,
our days go by.
Most of the friendships,
are left out to dry.
Tonight however,
is our night of nights.
This is the time,
to discard all the fights.
So when we get older,
we’ll remember the past.
Times when we remember,
getting drunk off our ass.
Heres a toast,
for us and glory.
So we may tell our kids,
of this magnificent story.

You may say that we just came here and now we are leaving… no one will ever remember us….
It is not true.
we have walked these halls for three years.
Our footprints have been engraved into the floor
Our handprints have been etched into the walls
But most importantly:
Ourselves, Our personality, Our beings, Have been planted into the memories of students, teachers, and parents….
No matter what, That memory will always be there.
It is still there even if we can not remember it. It will be there forever.

This is a poem that is about an angel trying to fly for the first time. it represents my graduation from middle school and going to high school for the first time.
Watch as my feathers grow
Hear stories of my potential
To reach all of my goals
To go higher than ever before
Â
I’m finding myself unsure
If I’ll be able to soar
With my angel wings tied on my back
Will they fall off? Will they stay intact?
What if fly
Into the sky
And instead of flying
I land on the earth
I land in a field
Laying down in the green
Closing my eyes
Hoping that is a dream
Thinking of how I will have to
Face the music
The slow, droning type that
They play at funerals
Open my eyes
Realize I was asleep
I can still try
To spread my angel wings
Stepping onto the cloud
Looking down onto the earth
It’s so green and lush down there
Will I soon be among it?
Check on my back
And see that theyre there
My angel’s wings
Haven’t left me yet
I decide to try
To try to fly
Into the sky
I decide to fly
Sun beating down
On the wings on my back
No wax is melting
My face can relax
A smile slowly begins
To appear on my face
The wind in my hair
The feeling of peace
My wings and I
Me and my wings
We will soar to the skies
My wings and I
