GoodBye Poems

Until The Day I Say Good Bye

DownUp 0

I’ve been trying to kill myself for as long as I can remember.
It all stopped since last year November.
But it came back just a few days ago.
And now again I’m empty, yet full with sorrow.

It’s always going to follow me.
It’ll never let me free.
It’ll always be a part of me.
No matter if I flee.

I feel like living in a world where I don’t belong,
Living a life which isn’t mine.
It feels like dying,
While staying alive.

I don’t want any help.
I’m going to fall back anyway.
I can’t deny it.
This is who I am.

I don’t know what I have to do.
And I don’t know what’s going to happen.
All I know is that it’ll never leave me alone.
Until the day I’m going to say good bye.

My Last Goodbye…

DownUp 0

Why stay with you and be your love?
After all that you’ve forgotten of?
This lie we’ve lived until the end
Shall be the last of this to mend.

Why live with lies and quarrels lost?
I’ve dreamt of this but looked past the cost…
Standing fast to fight through the cold,
And the story of love, untold.

For my world has stopped revolving,
And the cold has settled ’round me,
‘Til you return, time’s standing still,
With its stinging, breathless chill.

And as this sunset spreads its colors,
The reds and gold’s of skies do smother
The clouds tell stories left unheard
They’ve seen it all, now softly blurred.

Can you hear this, its quiet sigh?
as it is toning down the sky
Though twinkling stars will smile through
I dream of skies the deepest blue.

The raindrops tell a sickening tale
They’ll laugh and say “Your love has failed.”
The rainbow smiles all too true
but then will frown a humble hue.

I’ll lie here all too much alone
try to forget the hate love’s shown
My love whispers across the sky
It says to you my last goodbye

The New Year

DownUp 0

It is winter and the new year.
Nobody knows you.
Away from the stars, from the rain of light,
you lie under the weather of stones.
There is no thread to lead you back.
Your friends doze in the dark
of pleasure and cannot remember.
Nobody knows you. You are the neighbor of nothing.
You do not see the rain falling and the man walking away,
the soiled wind blowing its ashes across the city.
You do not see the sun dragging the moon like an echo.
You do not see the bruised heart go up in flames,
the skulls of the innocent turn into smoke.
You do not see the scars of plenty, the eyes without light.
It is over. It is winter and the new year.
The meek are hauling their skins into heaven.
The hopeless are suffereing the cold with those who have nothing to hide.
It is over and nobody knows you.
There is starlight drifting on the black water.
There are stones in the sea no one has seen.
There is a shore and people are waiting.
And nothing comes back.
Because it is over.
Because there is silence instead of a name.
Because it is winter and the new year.

In Memoriam

DownUp 0

With you a part of me hath passed away;
For in the peopled forest of my mind
A tree made leafless by this wintry wind
Shall never don again its green array.
Chapel and fireside, country road and bay,
Have something of their friendliness resigned;
Another, if I would, I could not find,
And I am grown much older in a day.
But yet I treasure in my memory
Your gift of charity, and young hearts ease,
And the dear honour of your amity;
For these once mine, my life is rich with these.
And I scarce know which part may greater be,–
What I keep of you, or you rob from me.
