Maybe, I’m a Crook

to tell you that I’m fine.
I’m not a star that’s always gonna shine.
It’s neither my greed nor your need
It is the way you look that makes me smile.
You think you know what I’m going to say,
you think it’s a game but I don’t wanna play
you think you know enough as much as I know u,
but let me tell you this
I know how to bluff so you are far away.
I am waiting here along the lane,
standing in this huge ground.
looking at the people who come and go,
some in need of money and some looking for fame.
I don’t wanna know what’s in your mind
few play to win few just enjoy the game
but neither I’m a player nor you are the crown,
I’m just waiting here to tell you I quit
quit hiding from myself,
quit telling lies to u,
quit saying I’m good
cz I don’t wanna feel more ashamed.
My eyes wanna see you,my ears wanna hear your footsteps
keeping the hope alive,I believe you will come.
you know even if you won’t,
I’m not going to blame.
In a few seconds you were in sight
somewhere inside I felt so heavy,
as if somthing was grabbing me inside
forcing me to make my heart light
but the very next moment I realized it is the day
when you are going to listen and I’m gonna be heard
when you wanna know each and every thing I feel,
and I know if I don’t do it today,
I won’t get another chance to say.
You came closer,said you don’t wanna listen lies,
but I was lost somwhere in your eyes.
You said be frank and be out with it,
I wanted to stand there and enjoy every moment of it.
you held my hand to show you cared,
you didn’t believe me when I said I wasn’t scared.
Then something happened
the words slipped out on their own,
you were shocked and said it can’t go on.
I said I know but I don’t care,
you should go your way and I’ll go mine
may be that’s the end but anyways it’s fine.
I walked away after the final words
leaving you there alone and puzzled,
may be you thought what u did was wrong
but it was too late to be back in time.
I still remember you said I’m a star,
you said till the time we are friends everything will be fine
May be something better could have happened,
We could have been together for such a long time.
I still wonder why I said those words
I know I’ve lost you but I’m not gonna lose away my pride,
coz it’s the only thing,
that is all mine.
However hard you may try I’ll prove my worth
whatever it takes,whatever it asks for,
whether my grace or my life.
However far you may go,
you know you can’t escape the truth.
Whenever you’ll look yourself in mirror,
somwhere in your eyes you’ll always notice my shine.
